Welcome from the Principal

Assalamu ‘Alaykum / Peace be upon you

A very warm welcome to our new website. We’ve come a long way since 2007 when the school started with just a small intake of girls and even less resources. However, our guiding principles and mission have remained the same, ‘for Bahr Academy to be a place where our students can achieve educational excellence and benefit from amazing opportunities for character development, spirituality, leadership and service to communities.’

Our pursuit of academic excellence is based upon our unshakeable belief that every person is unique and special, and has the capacity within them to succeed. Our vision is ‘To nurture today’s young generation to become tomorrow’s leaders and role models’ and our job as a school is to help each and every young person discover their unique talents.

We believe that all our students from every background are capable of achieving outstanding outcomes and developing into active British citizens who contribute to the wider community. We promote fundamental British values in a unique manner based upon the teachings of our Holy Book; The Qur’an and prophetic traditions. As our Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaches us; ‘People are like treasures, just like treasures of gold and silver.’ As we know, gold and silver do not simply come out of the ground ready to be made into jewellery. Much effort is spent finding the gold and extracting it from the ground. Craftsmen (i.e. Bahr Academy team) then labour for hours on end to turn it into something of beauty. The metal is then moulded and crafted into precious jewels; similarly, our Bahr Academy team strive to mould our precious students into amazing human beings.

Mission Statement

'To reconnect with the teachings of the Holy Quran & Sunnah.'

The principle of our Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Objectives are all based upon the words of Allah (our God) in the Holy Quran and his Messenger Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him).

Allah the Almighty (God) says in the Holy Quran,“O Mankind! We have created you from a single male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable amongst you in the sight of Allah is the one who is most god-fearing (god conscious) of you”. (Surah Hujuraat, verse 13)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him) said,“The whole creation is (like) the household of Allah and the most beloved person in the sight of Allah is the one who is the kindest to his creation”.
